Revitalization of Downtown
St. George Dailey
Spectrum, St. George, UT, USA
Revitalization of St. George's downtown area is a
continuing theme for the community's business and
government leaders. "Chad Hardy, who recently moved from
Palm Springs, Calif., has begun "St. George Downtown
Thursday Night," a street fair featuring food,
entertainment, arts and unique crafts. The event on Main
Street runs from 6 to 10 p.m. each Thursday night....
Sara Urquhart, head of the Dixie Art Coalition, said Art
Around the Corner is another effort to draw people into
downtown. It features approximately $250,000 worth of
sculpture scattered around the heart of the community.
"Our hope is to draw people out of their cars and onto
the sidewalk," Urquhart said. She noted that nearly all
the pieces on display are for sale. New sculptures will
be placed every year, providing residents and visitors
art to enjoy as they shop downtown.

Mark Twain
"It takes time to build
a corporate work of art. It takes time to build a life. And
it takes time to develop and grow. So give yourself, your

"Success tends to go not to the person who is error-free,
because he also tends to be risk-averse. Rather it goes to
the person who recognizes that life is pretty much a
percentage business. It isn't making mistakes that's
critical; it's correcting them and getting on with the
principal task."
