PBS documentary on LDS church 'respectful,
but not uncritical'
Although it doesn't air until Monday night, a new PBS documentary,
"The Mormons," is already causing some uneasy feelings for members
of its namesake faith.

Dixie puts on a fantastic Fiesta
ST. GEORGE - The Dixie Fiesta brought families together for a party
in the park Saturday. Eventgoers enjoyed tacos, fry bread and other
foods while listening to Hispanic music. Children played and ate

Utah's jobless rate remains well
below the national numbers, but it does appear that the state's
economy is starting to ease, according to the latest estimates from
the Utah Department of Workforce Services. Utah's seasonally
adjusted unemployment rate was estimated at 2.7 percent for January.
Total employment in the state grew by 4.5 percent over the past 12
months, continuing the slight downward trend over the past six
months. About 52,400 jobs were created during the past year.

Utah's housing boom officially came to an end late last year as
residential permits took a nosedive. In December, permits issued for
new houses, condominiums and apartments across the state fell to
1,551 units, a 21.1 percent drop from the number of permits issued
during the same month in 2005, according to a report from the
University of Utah's Bureau of Economic and Business Research.

Up, up and away. Utah home prices keep climbing. At 17.6 percent,
Utah led the nation in house-price appreciation in last year's
fourth quarter compared to the same quarter of 2005, according to a
report released by the U.S. Office of Federal Housing Enterprise
Oversight.
